Still can't believe that I'm typing this. Prodigy,(shown above wearing our God Father inspired Killing the game tank top), one half of the The Infamous Mobb Deep passed away yesterday, June 20, 2017. In my book, Prodigy was one of the best to ever do it. Here at 8&9, our catalog is filled with classic Queens music.HNIC was played at least once a week for 7 years at The Showroom.

With Prodigy's lyrics and sound, along with the unique production from Havoc, it's undeniable that Mobb Deep was a incredible group. Being from NY,  he'll always be on my top 10 NY rappers list. Not only was he a ill lyricist, Prodigy never backed down from anyone and held NY down when Snoop came through and crushed the buildings.

We've payed homage numerous times in our designs to Prodigy and Mobb Deep songs and lyrics.  We first used the lyrics "There's a war going on outside no man is safe from" on our "War" shirt. We also created a Keep it Thoro graphic and referenced the song "Three" by Prodigy and the homie Cormega in one of our graphics. R.I.P. Prodigy of Mobb Deep (2)
