For a while I’ve been searching for my very own “Cheers” bar–you know, the one where “everyone knows your name”. I still haven’t found that place yet here in Miami. May have a top nominate with Mignonette Oyster Bar with its laid back vibe to it, great for after work happy hour. With a well paired list of wines and craft beers that suite to the menu. Mignonette Oyster Bar from Blue Collar owner and executive chef Daniel Serfer does it again with this establishment. When you walk in there’s a marquee sign that displays a rotating selection of east coast and west coast oysters. The staff is very friendly and attentive with explaining the menu and the different daily options on the marquee.
The menu is reasonably affordable considering the quality of seafood to choose from oysters (duh) lobster, shrimp and caviar as well champagne if you’re feeling luxurious. I started off with a dozen house selected Umami (East Coast) and Sister Point (West Coast) oysters. The Umami oysters were sweet with a creamy texture and light saltiness. The Sister Point oysters had a more briny taste and firm meat.
Next was the Lobster Deviled Eggs (maine lobster, smoked paprika, chives) –these eggs were executed well that were smooth and lobster a buttery finish. Crab Cake red onion, bell pepper, scallions, worcestershire butter sauce --crab cake appetizer is a must try.
Warm Croissants lobster butter, mango jam
Crab Cake red onion, bell pepper, scallions, worcestershire butter sauce
Lobster Roll drawn butter, portuguese roll, old bay seasoned french fried potato chips
Lobster Deviled Eggs maine lobster, smoked paprika, chives
Oysters (umami and sister point) check the marquee for a daily rotating selection
