August 29th will forever be a special day too many people. It's the birthday of one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived, Michael Joseph Jackson. On that day, in the heart of Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, on a hot sunny day, not the hottest of the year like in a popular movie, Spike Lee threw his annual "BK Loves MJ" Block Party, sounds provided by DJ Spinna.
It was also a celebration and unveiling of the street sign "Do The Right Thing Way" which was officially granted and recognized by New York City government officials last year. It was and is the first work of art to be immortalized into a street by the city, that's history! Stop by on Stuyvesant Ave, between Lexington and Quincy streets to see it for yourself!
