Marc Newson Designs an Autonomous Flying Device

by Ray Figgs

“Iconic Australian designer Marc Newson has designed an autonomous flying device; although most people would probably refer to it as a jet pack. Newson’s design incorporates his signature elements and includes a carbon fiber shell, padded armrests, and retractable landing gear. Using a patented gyroscopic control system for maneuvering, possible airtime ranges from 45 minutes to an hour while the maximum altitude is contingent on the amount of fuel needed to return to solid ground.

Unfortunately the product is not quite ready for use although the Sydney-born designer has hopes that it will be available to the public sometime in the future.” via HS
