via MSN “Glory can be cruelly fleeting. It was for Beth Trammell, anyway. The Madison, Miss., woman set a record early Sunday when she captured the heaviest alligator ever caught in the state — a whopper weighing 723.5 pounds and measuring 13 feet, 5.5 inches long. But just a little over one hour after Trammell’s gator was certified as the new weight record-holder in the state (the previous record was 697.5 pounds), Dustin Bockman, a Vicksburg UPS driver, brought in an even weightier gator (shown here) at 727 pounds and 13 feet, 4.5 inches long. “He broke all the lines we could put in him,” Bockman said of his hefty catch to Mississippi News Now. Probably broke Trammell’s heart, too.” [Source]
