2012 was a great year for us. We bust our ass, and are proud of our contribution to the Florida street wear scene. Looking back, it’s interesting to see what designs were our biggest hits and your favorites. Let’s take a look at our most popular items of 2012.
Without a doubt, one of your favorites in 2012 was this “Brain Gang Beanie.” It sold out in a week. Fashion changes with the seasons, and Winter ’12-13 is all about the cuffed pom beanie. The Brain Gang Beanies are perfect fit, top quality and come in assorted colors. As far as Florida street wear is concerned, this beanie is a staple for all winter nights.
Our most popular t-shirt this year was our Blow American Dream T-shirt. The concept of this one is killer. It’s inspired by “blow.” In the movie the main character George meets Diego in prison. Diego tells George that “he failed because he had the wrong dream.” This epic line set a path for the rest of the movie and has always connected with fans and with people in general. The graphic includes the quote which is designed in the shirt and the stripes of the American Flag are constructed out of lines of cocaine.
8 and 9 Clothing goes out of our way to design shirts with complete outfits in mind. The results of this concept show in our Crime Pays T-shirt, which was designed specifically to match the Jordan Raptor 7 shoes. This shirt has been a huge hit in Florida street wear. If you are too young to remember “Miami Vice”, chances are you have played Grand Theft Auto. That being the case you will understand how the “Crime Pays” slogan is synonymous with Miami.
We give full credit to Nas with inspiration of this Never Sleep T-shirt. Nas spit the famous line “I never sleep cause sleep is the cousin of death” in his song New York State of Mind. Miami is known for its bright colors which is the inspiration behind the Vivid Orange and Cherry color scheme. The colors are also designed to match the Lebron 9 Low or Bubble Gum sneakers.
Our customers loved the vintage look in this Fast Life Heather T-shirt. This Fast Life graphic is inspired by 50′s gas stations and vintage racing paraphernalia. This is a classic Heather/Red/Black color scheme. Definitely a perfect shirt to match the Air Jordan 9 “Johnny Kilroy” and the Black Jordan Cement 4. This shirt is proof that simplicity is still the most important factor when designing clothing. Fast life is a simple, catchy and timely design.
